The Government of Bahrain Secures $500K in Funding to Promote Reconciliation

In an effort to further promote dialogue and reconciliation, the government of Bahrain committed an additional $500,000 to fund reconciliation programs run by nongovernmental organizations.

This new commitment to support national unity is one of several programs set-up by the Social Development Ministry designed to support the implementation of the recommendations of the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI). These new programs and funds are aided by international experts to help spearhead political, social and economic reconciliation.

A special unit designed to report the progress of reform remarked the government was working with several organizations to promote international human rights, which will be the recipients of this funding.
