Indigenous Peoples: Brazillian court suspends plans to construct world's third largest dam in Amazon rainforest

A Brazillian court has suspended plans to construct the world's third largest dam in the Amazon rainforest.

Indigenous groups say the project will destroy big parts of the rainforest and displace up to 20,000 of people.

Their cause has attracted the support of environmentalists and Hollywood celebrities, including James Cameron, the director of the highly acclaimed film "The Avatar".

Al Jazeera's Monica Villamizar reports.
