Bangladesh: 150 children hospitalized after taking Vitamin-A capsules

About 150 children aged between six months and five years fell sick after taking Vitamin-A capsules and deworming tablets, local newspaper The Independent on Friday.

The incident occurred on Thursday in Bangladesh's Faridpur district, 101 km southwest of the capital Dhaka, according to the daily.

Sources were quoted as saying that a health worker of Family Planning Division came to a village of the district and fed the capsules and tablets to the children.

"After about two hours, the children started vomiting and fell sick," a report from the area said, quoting villagers.
