Goodnight from Sydney

Tonight's photo: I call this one, "Yes - there is a hell of a lot of red in it!" Taken yesterday morning.

There has been a lot of talk in Sydney media recently regarding the King's Cross, "shooting gallery." For those of you who don't know what the hell I am talking about, the "shooting gallery" is a government funded heroin-injecting centre.

The Medically Supervised Injecting Centre (MSIC) is operated by the Uniting Church under license from the state government of New South Wales. Addicts are not provided with the drug, but are allowed to inject under medical supervision.

Personally I think it is a great idea. In fact - why stop at heroin.

Perhaps the government can pay for a medically supervised "puffing gallery," somewhere smokers can go to have a quiet puff without having to face disapproving stares from people who pollute my air with their car fumes, (I don't drive and never have).

Perhaps they can even have a tax payer funded "snacking gallery," somewhere kids can visit to have a Big Mac or a chocolate bar without being sent for counselling.

But of course that will never happen. Smoking and Big Macs are frowned upon.

Wherever you may be - be safe!
