Freight: A simple idea could save lives in Sudan

Supply Chain Review has a wonderful article about Palletcap Limited, the manufacturer of a bright yellow cone used to protect vulnerable freight.
The company will donate palletcaps to Oxfam GB for its relief work in Africa.

The palletcap is simply a cardboard cone that is placed on top of a pallet load to warn forklift operators from stacking any higher - solving the problem of sacks of aluminium sulphate (used to treat contaminated water in Sudan) splitting on arrival at their final destination.

Palletcap spokesperson Hayley Shirley said, "I would personally get a huge amount of satisfaction being a part of this project".
