Ankara, Oct 15, IRNA - President of the World Shiite Scholars Union Hasan Karabulut on Wednesday urged unity among Muslims against extremist groups.

Talking to IRNA, he noted that extremist group of Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) is a puppet in the hands of the Zionist and imperialist states.

Big powers created Daesh to provoke division among Muslim nations, Karabulut added.

He noted that Muslim nations should be vigilant towards US and Zionist regime divisive plots.

Turkey's Muslim people expect the government to boost relations with neighbors particularly Muslim states against the enemies of Islam, the Turkish activist noted.

The ISIL's brutal attacks have displaced thousands of people in Syria and Iraq while hundreds of people have been executed by the terrorist group.

The terrorist group in its self-proclaimed state as an Islamic caliphate claims religious authority over all Muslims across the world and aspires to bring much of the Muslim-inhabited regions under its direct political control.

Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has admitted in her memoirs titled 'Hard Choices' that the United States had a role in creation of ISIL.
