Iran: FM says does not let Holocaust denial be used as a threat against national security

Tehran, May 6, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif told Iranian MPs on Tuesday that he would not let the issue of Holocaust denial be used as a threat against Iran’s national security and dignity.
The foreign minister made the remarks in his address to the Iranian MPs during Majlis (Parliament) open session today.

Zarif attended Majlis Tuesday session to answer MPsˈ questions on performance of the Foreign Ministry regarding some major issues including the nuclear talks with the Group 5+1.

He said that it is a project pursued by the Zionist regime to use the issue of Holocaust denial as a threat against Iran’s national security and its international image and dignity.

“As long as I live, I will prevent materialization of the Zionist project to use the issue of Holocaust denial as a means to damage Iran’s image and dignity and use it as a threat against the country’s national security,” Zarif stressed.

Appreciating the MPs for the importance they attach to the country’s foreign policy and national security, Zarif said he was the only foreign minister in the history of the Islamic Republic of Iran who has repeatedly appeared in Majlis to answer the MPsˈ questions.

Zarif added that friends of Islam, Iran and the Islamic Revolution, wherever they are, feel happy since they are witnessing the glory of Iran resulting from its foreign policy.

The MPs were convinced by Zarif’s explanations.
