Iran, Afghanistan and India are going to sign a cooperation agreement in the near future, which allows Afghanistan to join India through Chabahar port in southern Iran, said Afghan Foreign Ministry spokesman.

In his weekly press conference, Shakib Mostaghni, said that conclusion of the tripartite agreement will be very beneficial.

Mostaghni also said that his country is trying to gain access to the Black Sea through Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Georgia.

He condemned a terrorist attack on a hotel in downtown Kabul on Thursday, killing 9, including Sardar Ahmadi, an Afghan reporter and four people of his family.

He said the attack had been planned from outside Afghan borders and dismissed Talibanˈs claims of being behind the attack as ˈuntrue.ˈ

On annexation of Crimea region to Russia following a referendum on March 16 during which the people in the region overwhelmingly voted for this autonomous region to become part of the country, the Afghan foreign ministry spokesman said his country recognizes the outcome of the referendum and respects the decision made by the people in Crimea.

Mostaghni voiced Afghanistanˈs readiness to hold International Nowrouz Celebrations slated for March 27, in which presidents and officials from 11 countries are said to attend.

He said he knew nothing about changing the venue of celebrations and that Afghan presidential palace would announce in case of any change in the place of International Nowrouz Celebrations.

There were some reports saying the celebrations, which were scheduled to be held in Paghman town near Kabul due to some security concerns, are going to be held in the presidential palace instead.
