Tehran, Oct 7, IRNA – Resort to threat and sanctions has failed to serve interest of the Western governments and if continued will be insistence on mistakes proved ineffective, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Monday.

In a meeting with visiting Swiss State Secretary Yves Rossier, Zarif said Iran is ready to remove reasonable mutual concerns, while stressing Iranian inalienable right to develop peaceful nuclear technology, including the right to enrich uranium inside Iran.

Referring to cordial ties between Tehran and Bern, Zarif called for further expansion of relations with Switzerland as an influential country in Europe and the international community based on mutual respect and interests.

He expressed hope that the western governments will utilize the opportunity of Iran and the G5+1 nuclear talks due to be held in Geneva on October 15-16 to initiate new proposals.

The Swiss State Secretary, for his part, called Iran as an important and influential country in the region to help resolve regional conflicts.
He expressed hope that the new round of talks between Iran and the six western governments would yield positive outcome.
