Iran: Ahmadinejad - All should respect people’s vote and choice

Tehran, July 18, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, by referring to recent developments in a number of countries of the region, said that all should respect basic rights of people vote and choice and accept people’s selection.

He made the remarks in a meeting with ambassadors and heads of representative offices of the Islamic countries in Tehran on Wednesday evening.

Ahmadinejad said the way to reach justice, freedom, honor and basic rights is not through conflicts and massacre. What would happen in a war? Men get killed, economy is demolished and grudge fills the heart of people, said the president.

He told the ambassadors that the Islamic world has historical enemies, adding that the Zionists and heads of hegemonic powers are arch enemies of all Islamic countries and they do not want our nations to be independent, progressive, calm, and prosperous.

He continued that we should be vigilant about events happening in the countries of the region that are in direction of Zionistsˈ interests.

Ahmadinejad appreciated the ambassadors for their cooperation during the past eight years for developing solidarity and strengthening bilateral ties and efforts for establishment of peace, justice and security in the world.

Ahmadinejad expressed hope to see the ambassadors again when peace and justice govern the whole world and all nations live in security, honor, tranquility, peace and prosperity.
