South Korea celebrated the 63rd anniversary of the Korean War with a large-scale reconstruction of the Battle of Chuncheon - one of the key battles of the whole conflict.
More than 500 South Korean soldiers took part in the reconstruction. Hundreds of soldiers, disguised as soldiers of South and North Koreas from the 40-ies, presented the army performance with tanks and artillery for the audience.
About three thousand people, including 200 veterans were invited for the reconstruction of the Battle of Chuncheon.
The Korean War began on June 25, 1950 and ended only in July 27, 1953. During that time, more than two million people were killed in the formerly united country. The Korean peninsula for many years became a range ground for the ideological struggle between the Soviet Union and the United States.
