Tehran, Jan 31, IRNA - Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said on Thursday that enemies are stepping up pressure on Iran to create crisis like the one they created after the previous presidential elections in Iran.

Addressing a group of IRGC commanders and officials, he said the upcoming presidential election provides a suitable opportunity for the enemies to launched another seditious move but they have forgotten that overcoming crisis is among the Iranian nation's points of strength.

The upcoming presidential election would witness massive participation of enthusiastic people who would play an active role to this end, he said.

The global arrogance has now waged a full-scale war on Iran in order to isolate the country and prevent its youth from conquering peaks of scientific success and development, he said.

The enemies seek to break the Islamic republic of Iran from inside and for the same reason they have targeted the three elements which brought victory for the Islamic Revolution, Mehmanparast said.

Unity, solidarity and commitment to principles were the three elements behind the triumph of the Islamic Revolution, he said, adding that the enemies alo try to sow seeds of discord by exerting more economic pressure on the Iranian people, he said.

It is incumbent upon people from various walks of life to obey guidelines and commands of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, he said.
