Bilateral Relations: Iran minister - Iran, Zimbabwe face common issues, threats

Tehran, Oct 15, IRNA - - Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Affairs Abdorreza Shekholeslami on Monday said Iran and Zimbabwe face common problems and threats and share similar hopes.

He made the remarks in a meeting of Iran-Zimbabwe Joint Economic Commission in Tehran.

Pointing to the two countries' commonalties, Shekholeslami underlined expansion of mutual cooperation and said bilateral ties and cooperation in economic, cultural and social fields must be upgraded to cooperation at international level.

Zimbabwean Foreign Minister Simbarashe Samuel Mumbengegwi as president of the joint commission underlined the need to foster Iran- Zimbabwe cooperation and said the two nations have common social and political history to safeguard.

Pointing to western countries' interference in the domestic affairs of other countries he said these countries unilaterally impose their will on others.

The Zimbabwean minister said the West have imposed sanctions on Iran and Zimbabwe to cripple their economies and weaken their trade.

The 8th Iran-Zimbabwe Joint Economic Commission meeting officially kicked off on Monday and will end on Wednesday.
