Iran: Turkey says Iran's viewpoints in the region very important

Ankara, Aug 17, IRNA – Turkish Deputy Prime Minister in Parliament and Religious Affairs Bekir Bozdag said that Iran's viewpoints on the region are very important for Turkey.

In a meeting with Iran's Ambassador to Turkey Bahman Hosseinpour here on Tuesday, Bozdag called relations between the two countries friendly, adding that Turkey sincerely believes that bilateral relations should develop in all fields.

He said that viewpoints of both countries are close to each other.

The Turkish official called Iran a big country with ancient history with many interesting points to visit and said that we should persuade our compatriots to visit the ancient land of Iran.
Bozdag also underlined parliamentary cooperation between the two countries and said that Turkey tries to increase this cooperation with Iran and expressed hope that reciprocal visits could happen more by the two countries parliamentaries.

He also underlined necessity of expansion of religious cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting happened as Iran's ambassador plans to visit officials of Turkey's new government, and Bozdag is one of four deputies of Turkish prime minister.

The ambassador presented a report on bilateral cooperation in different fields and its noticeable expansion and said such brotherly and friendly ties could be a good model for neighbors.
Referring to good parliamentary relations between Iran and Turkey and by referring to visit of Turkish parliament speaker to Iran as well as visits of different commissions heads, the ambassador calld for continuation of such parliamentary visits during the new parliament of Turkey.

Hosseinpour also expressed Iran's interest in cooperation in the field of religious affairs and expressed Iran's desire for travel of Head of Turkey's Religious Organization Muhammad Gourmaz.

The ambassador declared that there is serious intention among senior officials of both countries for expansion of cultural cooperation and by referring to visit of Turkish Culture Minister to Iran, expressed Iran's readiness to sign cultural agreements between the two countries.
He said that media have an effective role in creating interest in cooperation and friendship between the two nations and expressed hope that media cooperation between the two countries would increase more and more.
