Sudan: Demobilization of 1000 ex-combatants starts in West Darfur

The Sudanese News Agency reports, North Sudan Commission for Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR), Ginaina Office, has started the demobilization of 1000 combatants from the Armed Forces, Public Defense Forces and the movements signatories of the Darfur Peace Agreement.

The Acting Governor of West Darfur State, Abu Al-Gasim Al-Amin Baraka, and members of the Security Committee of the State were Monday briefed on the progress of work implemented by the DDR, United Nations, the African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
