Iran: "Enemies have no hope of ever overcoming Iran"

IRNA – Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said enemies have no hope of ever overcoming Iran.

The president made the remark during a meeting with the leaders of a number of Lebanese parties and groups in the second day of his visit to the country on Thursday.

President Ahmadinejad said though enemies of the regional states have in the past one hundred years been planning to dominate the sensitive and strategic region of Middle East, they still have no hope of ever gaining victory over Iran.

He said enemies had the illusion that Lebanon was the weakest country in the Middle East region while the firm resistance of the Lebanese nation, government and groups proved them wrong.

Stressing that the hegemonic powers are on the verge of collapse, Ahmadinejad said they attacked Afghanistan to save themselves but lost the chance of victory there and that is why they are now after Lebanon.

However, he noted, the resistance of the Lebanese nation has frustrated enemies.

He further noted that the Iranian nation has always stood by the Lebanese nation, stressing that Iran was ready to rush to the nation's help whenever they called for it.

The Iranian president also said he believed Lebanese dignitaries were well capable of managing their own affairs without the interference of aliens.

Saying that enemies grasp every opportunity to sow discord among regional states, President Ahmadinejad stated that the leaders of these countries are obliged to resist and foil their plots.
