Bulgaria: Bulgaria one of the most troubled countries in the EU

FOCUS Information Agency - Bulgaria, which sets conditions before Macedonia’s EU integration, is one of the most troubled countries in the Union, Macedonian Vecer newspaper writes.

The newspaper cites a publication of Transition Online, which states that when Bulgaria and Romania joined the EU in 2007, the rest of the member states expressed serious concern about the high level of corruption in the former communist countries and the operations of the local criminal groups that master the political power in Bulgaria.

“Today, about 30 months after the EU accession, the frauds, corruption and organized crime are still a problem”, the reports of the European Commission say and question local political leaders’ will to realize the reforms, Vecer writes.
