Iran: Iran to publicly hang 14 in park (Updated)

Iranian authorities announced on Monday that they will publicly hang 14 rebels on Tuesday, the semi-official Fars news agency reported.

Iran "will execute the number two man of the Jundallah terrorist group (Abdulhamid Rigi) along with 13 other terrorists publicly in the southeastern city of Zahedan on Tuesday," the report said quoting a statement released by Iran's southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan provincial Judiciary Office.

They will be executed publicly at 6:30 a.m. (0200 GMT)in Laleh Park in Zahedan on Tuesday, according to Fars.

UPDATE: Iran has executed some of the 14 convicted members of a Sunni rebel group.

The 14 were hanged in public this morning in the city of Zahedan in south-east Iran.
