Honduras: Brazil refuses to recognize new government

Brazil does not recognize Honduras' new government, which was declared on Sunday after the country's President Manuel Zelaya was deposed by Army forces, Brazil's President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva, Xinhua reports.

"There is no middle ground. We must condemn this coup," Lula said on his weekly radio show "Breakfast with the President."

"We cannot accept or recognize any new government but President Zelaya's, because he was elected by the people following the rules of democracy."

In Latin America, it is not acceptable for anyone to try to solve their problems via coup anymore, Lula said.
