Four families from Nayapara Refugee camp and another four families from Kutupalong camp have been selected for resettlement in Australia on April 19, a refugee committee member from Nayapara camp said.

The families, who left were--- four families comprising 19 people from Nayapara camp and another four families comprising 17 people from Kutupalong camp, the refugee leader added.

The refugees have to stay in Dhaka for 4 days due to training to acquaint them about the culture of Australia. They had already left for Dhaka on April 15, from their camps.

After the training in Dhaka, they will fly to Australia on April 19, at night, at about 1:00 am (local time).

This is the first batch of 36 refugees including man, women and children who will fly to Australia, according to another refugee from the camp.

The resettlement program began in 2006 and Canada was the first country to accept Rohingya refugees from Bangladesh.
