In a statement he said: "In spite of failure of this ministerial conference, never so much progress was achieved in the domain of the progressive liberalization of the world trade," and expressed hope that negotiations would resume as quickly as possible.
He added that the success of Doha Round of negotiations is of a critical importance for the worldwide economy which is in search of a positive sign
.
"For Belgian economy and European also, concrete advantages would have followed from success of this conference," he added.
