Corruption: Serbian mafia bosses move to Novi Sad

The chief Serbian drug lords have moved from Belgrade to Novi Sad since recently. From the downtown of the Serbian Athens they manage the black market of heroin and cocaine and participate in the privatization of small companies, mainly in the restaurant sector, the Serbian Vecernje Novosti newspaper writes.

Now “number one” in these “deals” are brothers from Montenegro who “live” along the “Belgrade – Novi Sad” line. Besides drugs they are dealing also with purchase of real property in Vojvodina and in the triangle Serbia-Bosnia and Herzegovina-Montenegro. In Belgrade and other cities they have “representations,” which currently wage real small “wars” for the market and bloodily remove competition.

The most recent and severe settling of accounts is in Belgrade, but it is not calm also in Bor and Zaecar Districts.
