NTV news channel quoted Turkish diplomatic sources as saying that the Iranian leader was due to visit the city of Istanbul.
It's reported that Ahmedinejad's avoidance of visiting Ankara, was said to be to "avoid" visiting Mustafa Kemal Ataturk's shrine, who was also knowm as "Father of the Turks" and the founder of modern Turkey
