Bilateral Relations: Egypt and Libya set to boost energy ties

Egypt and Libya are keen on boosting bilateral cooperation in the fields of electricity and energy, the Egyptian state MENA news agency reported Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, Egyptian Minister of Electricity and Energy Hassan Younes and visiting Secretary of Libya’s General People’s Committee for Electricity, Water and Gas Umran Abu-Kra’aa held talks on this issue.

The two sides discussed details to set up a joint ad hoc committee to draw up an executive plan for establishing a 1,300 megawatt power station in Libya, said the report. They also underlined the importance of establishing a power linkage between the two countries and organizing more training sessions at Egyptian centers on energy know-how.
