Goodnight from Sydney: Oct 4

Is it my imagination or is the kangaroo giving me a sideways glance!

I have no idea what this carriage is and at the end of a long walk on a hot day, I was too knackered to find out - especially as the only assistant available was a young female. Somehow the idea of dripping sweat all over the poor thing didn't strike me as being particularly suave - especially with the cough and cigarette hanging out the side of my mouth. Luckily there were no photographers waiting to snap me, or police waiting to ask me what direction I wanted their enquiries to take.

This antique shop is located in my street - but about three quarters of a kilometre away from where I live. It's one of those streets that go on forever and changes character along the way.

Even though they tend to sell a lot of rubbish, I love this shop as I never know what I am going to come across. They have a big turnover in old posters, advertising signs and for reasons one can only imagine, old school desks.

The inside of the shop has no shape nor form, it is a complete mess- but that's the way I like it. Old music manuscripts, ornaments, books, maritime paraphernalia - all mixed in together. I took my mother there once and as she stood looking at an old clock, someone offered me two hundred bucks and asked if I could help tie her to his roof rack. She told me later if he had been ten years younger, she would have helped him herself.

Thanks to all those who have voted for me in the annual Web Log Awards! I once got a certificate for swimming a width of Guilford Crescent Baths in Cardiff, and a badge for being able to cover a beautifully designed book cover in brown paper, but so far that is the limit of my achievements!

Till tomorrow

Wherever you may be - be safe!
