It's coming up to that time of year again - the time when New South Wales high school pupils sit the HSC (Higher School Certificate).
Sarah Price, the Education Reporter for the Sydney Morning Herald reports that this year pupils are escaping the study blues with a little pampering.
"Jodie Chin, manager of the Day Spa at Sydney's Observatory Hotel, said girls were keen to use pampering to tackle pre-exam anxiety. 'It's something that has really taken off this year,' Ms Chin said. 'Taking time out for yourself is so important."
Massages and facials, are the most popular but a 90-minute Ultimate Stress Buster treatment set students or their parents back $200 (About eighty-nine quid). A relaxation massage costs $140. A massage for stress relief is $155.
One health resort offers HSC gift vouchers, including accommodation, starting at $402.
Rob Randall, director of curriculum for the NSW Department of Education and Training, said it was important that students had a study plan so they knew what they needed to do each day. But he said it was also important to take breaks, exercise and keep a balance by having a social life.
