Health: Norway plans to provide $56 million for vaccines for developing countries

Norwegian International Development Minister Erik Solheim, has announced that Norwegian government will propose to Parliament that Norway commits 350 million Norwegian krone (about $56 million) towards the purchases of vaccines for developing countries.

Speaking at the opening of The Second Plenary Meeting of the Leading Group on Solidarity Levies to Fund Development, held in Oslo, he said that the government is to support Advanced Market Commitments for Vaccines (AMCs), a scheme that guarantees future public purchases of vaccines for developing countries.
