Nuclear Energy: South Korea to boost nuclear power generation

The Korea Times reports that Korea is likely to increase its share of nuclear power generation, which accounts for 40 percent of the nation's electricity output, amid high prices for oil and liquefied natural gas, a government official confirmed.

A high-ranking official of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy said, "It is necessary to raise the share of nuclear power generation to 70 percent, the level of France."
