Education. Teachers demand right not to write comments on report cards

Primary school teachers in New South Wales are demanding the right not to make written comments about students' performance on their report cards.

According to The Daily Telegraph, the demands cover key subjects such as creative and performing arts, personal development/health/physical education, human society and its environment, and science and technology. The bans exclude literacy and numeracy.
At the same time education authorities are trying to get bans lifted on the controversial A to E grading system.

Wannabe comedians who think writing sarcastic, derogatory and sometimes libellous comments on the reports cards of their clients, may thankfully soon be a thing of the past. Grades and comments are left over negative relics from the golden age of educational mediocrity.
