Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has announced that Singapore and Afghanistan have agreed to establish diplomatic relations.A statement issued by the ministry said, "The Government of the Republic of Singapore and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, wishing to strengthen and develop friendly relations between them, have agreed to establish diplomatic relations with effect from June 22, 2006".
