Goodnight from Sydney

Another day of posting concluded - aren't you lucky!

April 3 - April 7 is Seniors Week in New South Wales, and like many other councils and government organisations, my local council has organised a series of events to mark the event.

I was talking to an elderly neighbour today about the activities that our illustrious council have planned, and we both agreed that as per usual, the council are offering "bugger all" - her words not mine.

However, I did point out that there were a series of seminars focusing on the issues of aging, and mentioned one that I thought may be of interest to her.

"What's it about?" she asked, so I asked her to wait while I popped into my apartment and printed the information for her. A few minutes later I returned and handed her the information. She donned her reading glasses and read -

"... It will feature a talk about the importance of friendship and social inclusion as we age."

Handing me back the piece of paper she informed me -

"I'm not going to that - it will be full of old biddies"

Wherever you may be - be safe!
