Bilateral Relations: Belarus seeks closer ties with Iran

The Islamic Republic News Agency, reports that Belarusian president in a meeting with Iran's Commerce Minister Masoud Mirkazemi on Friday called for promoting bilateral relations in all fields.

Alyaksandr R. Lukashenko said, the current level of trade exchanges between the two countries (approx. $40 million) are not corresponding to existing potentials and keeping the current level is not acceptable.

He told reporters that in a written message, President Ahmadinejad, emphasized the importance of consolidating bilateral ties not only in political field, but in economic, scientific and technological areas, too.
