I don't normally do obits on this blog but I have a feeling many British ex-pats will be saddened by the passing of wrestler Jackie Pallo.Many of my generation will fondly remember the Saturday afternoon wrestling on television. Jackie Pallo, was an entertainer - the one you loved to hate. His "bouts" with Mick McManus, may not have had the big dollar razzmatazz of today's wrestling, but we loved it all the same - even in black and white!
When I was about ten years old, my parents took me to see the wrestling at Sophia Garden in Cardiff, Wales. I sat there booing and hissing with the best of them as I watched the stars of "the box" come to life.
Jackie, died at his home in Ramsgate, Kent, on Saturday after battling with cancer. He was aged 80.
