Motoring: Nearly 46,000 cars torched in France last year

While the Sydney media gets its knickers in a twist over street crime and post "race riot" incidents, the French it seems have rather more of a problem.

In 2005, nearly 46,000 cars were burnt in arson attacks - 10,346 in the period October 27 to November 21.
