International Development: UN agencies claim 6.7 million in Sudan still need food aid

I didn't think I would be able to post until Monday, but my body tends to be a bit of an awkward old bugger and does things that aren't expected! I am not sure if I will post the normal ten posts, but half-a-blog may be better than none!

Two United Nations agencies have warned that despite a good harvest, 6.7 million people in Sudan still require food aid

In a joint statement, The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) said that most of the needy are found in Darfur region of western Sudan, southern Sudan and marginal areas in central and eastern parts of the country.

The statement said most of the needy have either been forced to flee their homes by fighting or are in the process of returning home following the 2005 Comprehensive Peace Agreement.
