International Development: EU allocates 5.5 million euros of food aid to Yemen

The European Union has agreed to allocate Yemen, 5 million euros ($5.9 million) of food aid beginning this year.

The Yemen Observer reports that according to Amir al-Aidarous, the Yemeni Ambassador to Paris, an agreement for the aid would be signed by Yemen and a representative of the European Commission. He also said, the grant was based on a request from the French government. He added that Yemen and France would soon sign an aid agreement at 1.5 million euros to be paid yearly through the Yemeni-French Technical Office in Sana'a.
