Energy: $1 billion hydrogen power plant planned for California

BP Plc and Edison International unit Edison Mission Group, intend to build a $1 billion hydrogen-fuelled power plant in California that would generate electricity with minimal carbon dioxide emissions.

According to a press release by BP, the power plant located next to BP's Carson refinery, is scheduled to be online by 2011 and will be able to serve 325,000 California homes.
