Transport: Beijing buses to be fitted with smog reducing braking system

Beijing, is to fit 50 of its buses with an experimental braking system that authorities hope will combat smog by cutting fuel use by 30%.

The buses will use hydraulic hybrid vehicle technology, which absorbs energy released as a vehicle brakes and allows it to be released when they restart or speed up.
