Human Resources: Thai government to enforce smoking ban in government offices

Thailand has decided to enforce a ban on smoking in government offices.

The law was actually passed a decade ago but has never been effectively enforced. That situation has now changed and any permanent secretary or chief of a state office who turn a blind eye to staff or visitors violating the ban will be fined the equivalent of $500. Those caught smoking will be fined $50 U.S. dollars.
