International Development: Irish aid agency to change its name

Ireland is to change the name of it's foreign aid division from Development Co-operation Ireland (DCI), to Irish Aid. Let's hope they are not going to record one of those songs where all the artists are shown holding their hands to their headphones, while trying to look like they actually give a fuck about countries most had never heard of till they saw the dollar signs in Bob "I stll call Africa My Meal Ticket" Geldof's eyes.

The name change is intended to heighten public awareness of the country's overseas aid program. Part of the campaign includes the opening of a "one-stop shop" information centre in Dublin.

Sources say that "Irish Aid" is considered catchier, similar to USAID and the Australian "AusAID" which to me sounds like some sort of health drink.
