Energy: Russian gas company wants to store gas under rural Belgium

The Russian gas company Gazprom, a company that been very much in the news lately, wants to stock gas in subterranean cages under the Kemps, a rural area covering parts of the Antwerp and Limburg province in Belgium. Currently the company already stores gas under a small village in the Antwerp Kemps.

Federal Energy Minister Marc Verwilghen, is allowing further investigation into the possibilities of such storage as it would help Belgium address gas shortages. Currently the country only has a 12 day reserve.
