Training: Plan & Promote a Training Program - Supporting the learners and managing the process

By Mike Hitchen Consulting - the consultancy that puts principles before profits.

There may be a number of people involved in supporting the learners and managing their progress during training. They could include:

* Administration personnel who look after the record keeping inquiries and bookings.

* Technical experts who may help with equipment, LL&N and subject expertise.

* Team leaders or supervisors who may provide on job mentor support or coaching.

* The assessor or training partner and/or other personnel within their organisation.

* The program coordinator.

* Internal or external consultants who may provide counselling or guidance through learning.

* Colleagues of the learner who may support learning on the job.

Part of the planning process involves coordinating all these people and allocating responsibility for support and management of the learner. Training will not be as successful if the learner has no follow up support or practice opportunities with supervision after their training is complete.
