Small Business: Saudi Arabia to give SMEs top priority

The Chairman of the Saudi Council of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI), has said that now Saudi Arabia is certain to join the World Trade Organisation (WTO), the country will make the development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), top priority.

Abdulrahman Rashed Al-Rashed, said: "We are putting great effort on reinvigorating and strengthening the base of our SMEs, they being the backbone of our national economy, now that we are part of the WTO".

Saudi Arabia has an estimated half million registered SMEs.
