Advertising: Parents in United Arab Emirates demand curbs on violent TV ads

Parents in the are demanding authorities bring in a law banning or prohibiting advertisements on television that may lead to violent behaviour among children.

In a survey conducted by Khaleej Times, parents of school-going children criticised advertisements on TV that carried unsuitable content for children and made them blindly imitate actions of the models in the ads.

Engineer Hassan Al Katheri, Consumer Consultant said that the absence of protective law in the UAE might be encouraging violent behaviour in children.
