Training - Training small groups - Planning the body of your training session

Most of the work happens in the BODY of a training session. When you are planning your training methods and activities for this section you can use the following steps to guide what you write.

1. The trainer presents or demonstrates the new skills or information.

2. Participants apply or use the new skills and information in an appropriate activity.

3. The trainer summarizes the main points.

4. The trainer also asks questions to check that participants understand the new skills and information.

5. The trainer observes the participants to check that they can use the new skills and information.

These steps can be repeated as often as necessary depending on the participant's need and rate of progress.
