Energy: NEC develop organic battery

NEC have developed a rechargeable battery based on organic compounds.

The Organic Radical Battery,(ORB), is based on a similar cell structure to a Lithium Ion battery but instead uses an organic compound called PTMA.

NEC believes the new battery will be useful in a variety of IT related applications.
