Brass monkey weather here in Sydney

Gee, it's cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey here in Sydney.

Roads in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney were closed because of ice and snow, with Oberon receiving 10 centimetres of snow and an extra 30 centimetres in snow drifts.

The wind blowing down from the mountains is making it a very chilly day for Sydneysiders.

Light snow fell also fell on Parliament House in Canberra, but there was just too much hot air for it to settle.
