International Development: Bangladesh aims to be poverty free

The Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Khaleda Zia, has said that making her country poverty-free is the government's main objective.

Speaking at a function in honour of the officers and employees of the World Bank country office, she said, "We have already attained many successes and all have to work together much faster to implement the schemes under the poverty-alleviation programme."

I am not sure if she will make any statements at any function in honour of those who think a bucket of water is a luxury.

Just on a little, "down memory lane" side note, am I the only one who remembers "Concert For Bangladesh?"
