Human Resources: Sydney professor suspended for safety reasons following race row

A professor at Macquarie University (Sydney) who recently alleged that African migration increased crime rates, has been suspended amid safety concerns on the campus.

Associate Professor Andrew Fraser comments enraged Sydney's African community and were labelled "repugnant" by the University's Vice Chancellor, Di Yerbury.

The professor was advised that the University had received threats from people claiming to support him, which indicated that there were risks to the safety of those on campus who express a different view
