House rejects limits on small business contracts

BizJournals reports, The House rejected an effort to eliminate limits on how many contracts the Department of Defense can set aside for small businesses in industries where small contractors already receive a lot of work, (The Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program).

Rep. Nydia Velazquez of New York, claimed the program isn't working. The House, however, rejected her proposal on a 235-180 vote.
